Green Island Birding Tour

Saturday June 13th  Barn Swallow

Join our expert birders for a pleasant morning of bird watching at Green Island!  Feel free to bring your own binoculars and dress for the weather.  Please RSVP by Wednesday, June 10th because space is limited.

WEEDIN - Invasive Plant Watch Training 

Thursday - June 18th  

Become a WEEDIN (Willamette Education and Early Detection of Invasives Network) participant and help protect Oregon's landscape by preventing the spread of harmful invasive species.   Free training where you will discover more about the problem of invasive species, learn to identify, locate and report invaders before they become a problem and view live species. 

Time: 5 PM to 8:30 PM

Where: Mount Pisgah Arboretum

Oregon Coast Hike

Saturday, June 27th  Ten Mile Creek photo

Explore the Coast Range with staff from the McKenzie River Trust, Audobon Society of Portland and members of the Obsidians outdoor club.  We will meet at Cape Perpetua Scenic area south of Yachats and visit conservation easements held by MRT on Tenmile Creek.  Two hikes will be offered.  One will wonder in the Tenmile Creek area and the other will explore the coast.  The additional Gwynn Creek Loop trail hike (6.5 miles) has been cancelled.  For additional information, visit the Obsidians web page: www.obsidians.org 

Fee: There is a $1 fee for Obsidians members and $3 for nonmembers.

KLCC Garden Tour - A River Runs Through It

Sunday, June 28th

Come visit our booth at the 15th annual KLCC In Bloom Garden Tour benefit, A River Runs Through It.  KLCC is presenting nine varied and engaging gardens clustered on the east and west sides of the Willamette River.  Both groups are easily accessible by bicycle and are connected by the Owosso Bike Bridge.
