Green Island Birding Tour

Wednesday, May 14th

Join friend of the Trust and avid birder Steve Gordon for an insider's tour of Green Island. Steve spent his professional career as a planner with LCOG and was a primary architect in the construction of the West Eugene Wetlands. On this tour, he will indulge us in his lifelong hobby of birdwatching.

When: Wednesday, May 14th 8am - 10am. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Where: Green Island, Coburg

Directions from Eugene: Head north on Coburg Road to the town of Coburg.  From downtown Coburg, continue approximately 2 miles to a left turn onto Green Island Road when Coburg Road turns 90 degrees right. Continue on Green Island Road past the gate. Please drive slowly on the gravel road.

What to Bring: Sturdy and comfortable close-toes shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, water and binoculars if you have them. We will provide extra water and snacks.

Green Island Birding Tour

Join MRT board member and avid birder Kit Larsen for an exploration of Green
Island . Kit has been assisting fellow board member Roger Robb in conducting a
monthly bird survey on Green Island. Together over the past two years Kit and Roger have recorded 151 species! Kit will guide us to the best bird-watching spots and
help us identify any species we may be lucky enough to spot.

When: Saturday, May 17th 8am - 10am. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Mt. Pisgah Wildflower Festival

Sunday, May 18th, 10am-4pm

 
Enjoy the wildflowers and stop for a visit with staff and board at McKenzie River Trust's booth at the Mt. Pisgah Wildflower Festival!

About the Wildflower Festival:
This year the Wildflower Festival will honor amazing native plants and their beautiful pollinators, the butterflies. Enjoy displays of hundreds of wildflowers, a huge plant sale, live music, children’s activities, guided nature walks, and great food and handcrafted goods! Suggested donation: $5 per person or $10 per family. Mt. Pisgah members free! Free parking; please leave dogs at home. Co-sponsored by the Native Plant Society of Oregon and Lane Community College.
