ODFW staff and volunteers will provide equipment, and teach new anglers how to rig their line, cast a rod, land a fish and identify their catch.

Take the family fishing at Green Island!

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife staff and volunteers will provide equipment, and teach new anglers how to rig their line, cast a rod, land a fish and identify their catch. Cleaning stations will be set up so you can bring home your catch! This is a great opportunity for families to learn how to fish together and spend time in the outdoors!

Oregon fishing licenses are required for anyone 12 or older, and they are not sold at the event.

Because this property is a privately-owned space in active conservation, there are a few things to know before you visit:

• No pets, please. They may disturb wildlife.
• There will be a port-a-potty available but no other facilities.
• Bring a water supply to stay refreshed.
• The neighbors very much appreciate you driving slow on your way in. Please stay under 5 MPH past the houses on Green Island Rd.

Directions to Green Island

From I-5: Take Exit 199, Coburg exit.  Turn Left (if coming from south), (west) at the top of the exit toward the City of Coburg. You will be on E. Pearl St.  Go through a series of stoplights until you hit a T- intersection (light) in the heart of town. Turn right (north) onto N Willamette St.

From Coburg Rd: Continue through town on N Willamette St/W Van Duyan St/Coburg Rd approximately 2 miles.  After Johnson Brothers Greenhouses (on left) and just before Coburg Road takes 90 degree right turn;  go straight onto to Bottom Loop Rd (a paved ~100’ road), head straight through the intersection to Green Island Rd (gravel road).
