She worked previously for the Umpqua Soil and Water Conservation District as the Watershed Technical Specialist, implementing the USDA, NRCS Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program\. She also worked for the East Lane Soil and Water Conservation District\. She is a certified Oregon Conservation Planner\.
- [Jason Johnson](https://mckenzieriver.org/staff/jason-johnson/): Jason Johnson has called Eugene home since 2006\. An avid outdoorsman, he spends much of his time fly fishing Oregon’s rivers and traveling to fish waters across the U\.S\.

Jason is the Founder and Lead Advisor of BOSSTORQUE, a strategy and technology advisory firm that helps owner\-led construction and field\-service businesses build cleaner operations, reduce waste, and run more resilient systems\. He began his career as an Army Officer in the 25th Infantry Division and has spent more than two decades in technology and business leadership\.

A longtime Grateful Dead devotee, Jason is a member of the Grateful Dead Scholars Caucus and a two\-time presenter\. He holds an MBA from UCLA and an M\.A\. in English Literature from East Tennessee State University; his master’s thesis was titled Zen for Americans: A Poetic Rendering in Gary Snyder’s Turtle Island\. He lives in downtown Eugene with his wife, Sulwyn\.
- [Kristi Schneider](https://mckenzieriver.org/staff/kristi-schneider/): Kristi joined McKenzie River Trust as a Philanthropy Advisor in 2023\. A lifelong Oregonian, Kristi grew up scouting and fishing with her Dad and Pop, developing a curiosity and deep appreciation for the natural world\. Kristi received a BS in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon and played varsity women’s soccer for the Ducks\. The majority of her professional experience has been at nonprofits, most recently at the University of Oregon where she was a major gifts officer and director of development\. She is excited to work with people to connect to the land and better protect and restore our local habitats\. Her favorite pastimes include camping, hiking, and kayaking with her family, macramé, and gardening\.
- [Whitney Randall](https://mckenzieriver.org/staff/whitney-randall/): Whitney joined the McKenzie River Trust team in 2022\. Over the past decade, Whitney has worked on conservation projects with a focus on botany, fire, and trails for the US Forest Service on the Willamette National Forest and Rogue River\-Siskiyou\. Before that, she worked on several large riparian restoration projects in Utah and Colorado along the Escalante, San Juan, Colorado, and Green Rivers where much of her work included long raft trips and backcountry camping\.

Outside of work, Whitney dedicates her time to projects that focus on environmental justice and access to nature\. On the weekends, she can be found botanizing along a forested trail with her partner and dog, rafting in her packraft, rock climbing, or gardening\.
