Jim grew up and was educated in the upper Midwest in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He moved to Eugene in 1975 with his wife Connie and their four children, and he feels most fortunate to live in this most wonderful place. Now retired from his medical practice, Jim volunteers at the Volunteers in Medicine clinic, and serves on their medical advisory board. He joined the MRT development committee in 2014, and finds it rewarding to help raise awareness and support for the work of the Trust. He keeps busy tending his garden, traveling to interesting locations to observe and photograph birds, and spending time with his seven grandchildren.
