Regardless of how much money you have, planning ahead can allow you to continue to support the causes you care about after you are gone. There are many ways to leave a legacy gift to McKenzie River Trust. You can name McKenzie River Trust as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your estate.

Here are a few of the most common ways to make a legacy gift.

Bequest: Allocate a specific amount, percentage, or remainder of your estate or trust or designate specific assets (like real estate, stock, accounts, etc.) to McKenzie River Trust in your will.
Retirement Plan Designation: Make McKenzie River Trust a beneficiary of your IRA or other retirement plan. (And, if you are over 70½, you can already direct Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA.)
Life Insurance Policy: Designate a specific amount or percentage of your life insurance policy to McKenzie River Trust.

Each year, we look forward to inviting Confluence Legacy Club members to gatherings on the land to celebrate the good work of land and water conservation in western Oregon. As a Confluence Legacy Club member, you’ll have exclusive opportunities to join McKenzie River Trust staff, board members, and other Confluence Legacy Club members to learn about the special projects and places we are all working to safeguard for future generations to enjoy.

How to join the Confluence Legacy Club

We ask that those who have made a bequest to McKenzie River Trust in their planning let us know. We don’t need to know the details of your planned gift, or when you made your decision, but we would like to make sure we can honor your intentions and express our gratitude for your commitment to our natural lands and rivers. Please share your decision with us so we can welcome you as a member of the Confluence Legacy Club.
