How it was Protected:

Mike Shippey and Mary Minniti fell in love with this land in 1999 and in 2015 decided to work with McKenzie River Trust to create lasting stewardship of Coyote Creek Meadows with a conservation easement.

Many partners came together to help fund this property, which is part of one of the largest, most intact expanses of relatively-undisturbed forested and emergent wetland remaining in the southern Willamette Valley. The purchase of the easement was funded by the North American Wetlands Conservation Act (USFWS); the grant award was received through the Willamette Valley Partnership II and administered by Ducks Unlimited
