Sam Slater

Stewardship Intern

Sam grew up in the Redwood forests of Central California where he gained an appreciation for nature through Scouting. He is completing a BS in Fish & Wildlife Science and GIS certificate through Oregon State University. He is an advocate for sustainability and land rematriation. Sam has volunteered with McKenzie River Trust since 2021 and is excited to be in the role of Stewardship Intern for the summer season of 2023. When Sam is not restoring the land he is out enjoying it, through backpacking, paddling, and cycling.
